We are taking action to do all we can to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a church community, we are committed to following state guidance. We’ve been meeting online and in person safely.
As the situation develops, we are adapting our plan. Please sign up for emails. You can also check this page for current information.

Online Only for 4 weeks
Church Family,
Today, the governor announced new limits to gathering sizes, including churches. In keeping with the spirit of these limits, MVF will be moving to online only services at 9am for the next 3 Sundays. We will stream live from the Sanctuary at 9am, and the recordings will be posted on Facebook and at www.mvfredmond.org to watch anytime after.
Youth ministry and other groups will also be taking a two week pause.
Personally, I have appreciated your flexibility and understanding. The people of Mountain View have consistently brought the best attitudes in a rapidly changing environment. That nimbleness and attitude toward change bodes well for our future. I expect some fruitful ministry days in the weeks and months to come.
In Christ,
Pastor Rick

Masks & Church
Starting July 1st, masks or face coverings are required for all indoor gatherings in the state of Oregon. This means that all indoor church gatherings will be masked, including all current microsites. There are exceptions made for certain medical conditions and for children under 12 (although masks are encouraged for kids able to wear them). Please bring your own mask or face covering. Thanks to Gifted Hands Quilters, we’ll have a few extra at microsites. Click here for a link to specific guidance for churches.

Last week, we joined a webinar for faith leaders of Oregon hosted by the governor’s office and the Oregon Health Authority. The timing of phases and how they affect churches remains unclear, but there are certain things we know and can plan for.
We are committed as a church to abiding by the governor’s guidance.
With the onset of Phase 1, we are able to begin meeting in small groups of up to 25, maintaining physical distancing.
Groups (Mountain View Communities) are more vital now than ever. Group leaders will be receiving direction next week from us, and an invitation to prayer and planning. We’re excited about the opportunity to meet in person soon!
Sunday services will remain online only, likely for May and June. We’re planning some fun and creative ways to get together during Phase 1. As we get more specific information from the state, we may be able to change our plans.
We are working with the information we have now to come up with creative ways to meet on Sunday morning.
We expect most people will continue to join us online for the foreseeable future. With this in mind, we are working on a plan to stream high-quality live Sunday services with additional online options (not limited to Facebook).

Groups- we are following guidance from government officials.
-Please check with your group leader to see how your group might stay connected during this time.
-Groups of 25 people or under who are not vulnerable/are in good health are still encouraged to meet, according to the governor’s communication.
-Groups over 10 people among those vulnerable to COVID-19 should discontinue meeting in person until further notice.
-We are working closely with group leaders to facilitate creative new ways to stay connected during this time.
-You are the church. Take the initiative to pray for each other and reach out over the phone or mail a card of encouragement.
-Contact the church office if you need addresses or phone numbers (office@mvfredmond.org).
Kids and Youth
Our kids and youth leaders are working right now on ways to creatively engage kids. We’ll have more in the coming days.
We Care- let us know how we can support you
The church office will be closed until further notice as we work online, but we are still available! Let us know if you get sick, have a hard time getting groceries or if we can pray for you.
We are confident God will not only carry us through, but will be faithful to do something new at MVF through this. You can continue to find updated information on our website (http://www.mvfredmond.org/)

Our Actions
We’re taking some practical actions.
-Greeting- It’s ok to not shake hands. Fist bumps work and so does a friendly “hello.” We’ll be skipping our usual greeting time in service for now.
-Giving- There will be three offering boxes available inside the sanctuary near the doors. Consider giving online at MVFRedmond.org. Or text 84321. We'll be giving our offering plates a break.
-Coffee- We are being proactive with food and coffee service. You may notice several changes like volunteers pouring coffee for you. Communion will be served in individually wrapped containers.
-Take a Sick Day- Your presence here matters. But take a Sunday off if you are not feeling well or have vulnerable health. We will ensure sermons continue to be available online by Monday.
We will communicate through email as conditions change. Sign up to get any updates by filling out a Connection Card with your email address.
